Diagnostic Lab Sues Loews Insurance Unit Over Covid-19 Test Row

A Pennsylvania diagnostic lab sued a Loews Corp. insurance unit seeking coverage for underlying litigation alleging the lab mishandled Covid-19 test results.

In the underlying state court case, Covid-19 test manufacturer Advaite Inc. sued Lehigh Valley Toxicology, doing business as Lehigh Valley Genomics, alleging the lab improperly administered and interpreted results from Advaite’s RapCov antibody test kits in 2020.

Advaite claims LVG sent letters to 19,000 residents in Chester County, Pa., who had been tested with the RapCov kits, falsely stating there were reliability issues with the test kits themselves.
