Colleges Sue Insurers for Coverage of Virus-Linked Losses (1)

Three colleges are suing their insurance providers for coverage of losses suffered when they sent students home during the coronavirus pandemic.

Benedictine College, a Kansas liberal arts college, is slapping Zurich American Insurance Co. with a proposed class action over denied claims. Kansas City, Mo.-based Rockhurst University and St. Louis-based Maryville University are suing Factory Mutual Insurance Co. for similar claims.

The schools are represented by the same law firms—Stueve Siegel Hanson LLP, Langdon & Emison LLC, MIller Schirger LLC, and Shaffer Lombardo Shurin PC.
