Cincinnati Insurance to Appeal Loss in Virus Coverage Lawsuit (1)

The Cincinnati Insurance Co. plans to appeal a North Carolina judge’s ruling that more than a dozen restaurants in the state are owed payouts for extra expenses and lost income following virus-related government shutdown orders.

“We continue to believe that business interruption coverage under our property policy in this case does not apply because there was no structural alteration to property,” a Cincinnati spokesperson said in a statement issued Thursday.
