Chubb Units Ordered to Defend NY Town Over Airport PFAS Cleanup

Chubb Ltd. insurance units must pay for defense costs incurred by a New York town over a PFAS-contaminated regional airport designated as a Superfund site.

Policies issued to Harrietstown, N.Y., cover pollution related to plane crashes, and a claim from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation leaves open the possibility that contamination at the Adirondack Regional Airport arose in part from firefighting foams used responding to crashes, the US District Court for the Northern District of New York ruled Monday.
