Chubb Ran Secret Campaign on NY Archdiocese, Church Says (1)

The Archdiocese of New York accused Chubb Ltd. of waging a “shadow campaign” targeting the church, even while the insurer was defending it against more than 1,500 sexual abuse claims.

“Newly discovered evidence reveals that, since at least 2023, Chubb has been fraudulently posing as a victims’ rights organization known as the ‘Church Accountability Project’ and attempting to undermine and weaken the Insureds’ defense,” the archdiocese said in a Saturday filing.
