Chubb, Other Insurers Score Bellwether Wins in Endo Opioid Case

A Pennsylvania federal judge handed insurers, including units of Chubb Ltd. and Travelers Cos., several wins that may limit how much they have to pay for opioid epidemic claims against Endo International Plc.

In a series of opinions, Judge Chad F. Kenney in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania held that a products exclusion in commercial general liability policies issued to Endo generally barred coverage for suits over its alleged role in the opioid crisis.
