Chubb Avoids Covering New York School District Abuse Claim

A Chubb Ltd. unit is off the hook for a sexual abuse claim against a New York school district that failed to notify the insurer of the suit in time, a federal court ruled.

Kendall Central School District lacked a valid excuse for failing to notify Century Indemnity Co. of the abuse suit until almost two years after it was served, the US District Court for the Western District of New York said in a Tuesday order.
