California Religious Group, Winery Sued Over Sexual Abuse Claims

A religious organization and affiliated winery in California were hit with a lawsuit from a Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. unit alleging the group concealed past claims of sexual abuse against its leader.

Scottsdale Insurance Co. is seeking to rescind multiple commercial liability policies it issued to the Fellowship of Friends and the Renaissance Vineyard and Winery from 2005 to 2022, according to a complaint the insurer filed Monday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of California.
