BetterHelp, Loews Insurer Settle Coverage Case Over Privacy Suit

A Loews Corp. insurance unit and TelaDoc Health Inc. subsidiary BetterHelp Inc. agreed to settle a coverage dispute over Federal Trade Commission proceedings and privacy litigation alleging the online counseling service disclosed consumer health information to third parties without consent.

The US District Court for the Northern District of California dismissed the case Feb. 27 after the parties filed a joint notice of settlement. The court last October ruled that Columbia Casualty Co. had a duty to defend BetterHelp in a proposed class action over the alleged unauthorized disclosure.
