Berkshire Unit Drops Insurance Case Over Pay Transparency Suit

A Berkshire Hathaway Inc. unit dropped its suits against two McDonald’s Corp. franchise operators in Washington state over coverage for a proposed class action alleging they failed to disclose salary ranges in job postings.

RSUI Indemnity Co. filed a notice of dismissal with prejudice in the suit against one of the franchisees, KTC LLC, in the US District Court for the Western District of Washington on Tuesday.

  • RSUI sued the two franchisees in separate complaints in February, seeking a ruling that only defense expenses would be covered, and coverage would be subject to a $250,000 wage-and-hour sublimit.
