Berkley Insurer Sues Pilot Training Firm Over Notification Delay

A W. R. Berkley Corp. insurance unit sued Global One Training Group, seeking a ruling that it doesn’t have to foot the bill for litigation alleging the company negligently trained the crew of an aircraft that crashed in Cuba in 2018.

Global One failed to notify the insurer about the underlying suit for five years, breaching its duty to promptly report legal claims under an aviation liability policy, StarNet Insurance Co. said in a complaint filed Dec. 12 in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
