Berkley Insurance Unit Tops Gunmaker in DC School Shooting Case

A W. R. Berkley Corp. insurance unit is off the hook for a firearm manufacturer’s costs in litigation tied to a 2022 school shooting in Washington, DC.

An exclusion in Admiral Insurance Co.'s policy for claims alleging failure to comply with firearm laws precluded insurance coverage for the litigation against FosTecH Inc., the US District Court for the Southern District of Indiana said in a Wednesday order dismissing the suit.
