Atlantic Storm Humberto Forms, Raising Odds for Twin Systems

Tropical Storm Humberto has formed in the Atlantic Ocean, making it this year’s eighth storm and potentially setting up a rare occurrence — twin systems.

With top winds of 40 miles (64 kilometers) per hour, Humberto is forecast to become a strong Category 2 hurricane by Monday as it roars through the eastern Atlantic, the US National Hurricane Center said Wednesday in a 5 p.m. New York time advisory.
