Arthur J. Gallagher Settles Wage and Hour Claims for $4 Million

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. will pay $4 million to resolve class action claims that the global insurance broker shorted employees on wages under a settlement given preliminary approval by a California federal court.

The settlement amount “is a fair and reasonable result given the Defendants’ various defenses and falls within the range of possible approval,” Judge Marilyn L. Huff of the US District Court for the Southern District of California said Monday.

The court also granted class certification for the purpose of settlement. Melmed Law Group PC was appointed as class counsel and Itxamar Hernandez as class representative.
