Allianz Travel Unit Sues Its Own Insurer in Cyber Coverage Row

An Allianz SE unit offering travel protection insurance sued its own insurer for refusing to pay legal costs in litigation brought by Washington state alleging the travel unit made misleading statements on its website about a mental health exclusion.

Allied World Insurance Co. breached a cyber insurance policy by wrongfully denying coverage and refusing to defend or indemnify Allianz’s AGA Service Co., according to a complaint filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
