Allianz Beats South Carolina Restaurants’ Covid Insurance Bid (1)

Two Allianz units secured a ruling in South Carolina’s top court finding Covid-19 virus particles and government lockdown orders don’t cause damage covered by property insurance policies.

Sullivan Management, LLC, which owns several Carolina Ale House eateries in South Carolina, failed to show that either the coronavirus or government orders caused physical alteration that is required for property insurance coverage, the South Carolina Supreme Court said Wednesday.
