AIG Units Get Another Win Against McKesson on Opioid Coverage

A federal court again sided with two American International Group Inc. units in a dispute over insurance coverage for opioid litigation, dealing yet another blow to McKesson Corp. after a federal appeals court ruled for the insurers earlier this year.

The AIG units, AIU Insurance Co. and National Union Fire Insurance Co., first sued McKesson in 2020, asking the court to rule that their policies didn’t cover a group of suits against the pharmaceutical distribution company seeking to hold it liable for alleged contributions to the opioid epidemic.
