AIG Gets Most Claims Tossed in Law Firm’s Suit Over D&O Coverage

A Florida federal court dismissed several claims against an American International Group Inc. unit brought by a law firm that defended the insurer’s policyholder—a company and its director facing a federal securities probe.

Lambert Law Firm PC’s claims against National Union Fire Insurance Co. of Pittsburgh, Pa. for insurance bad faith, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and negligence failed, the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida ruled in a Tuesday order. The court granted the insurer’s motion to dismiss in part and set an April 18 deadline for the law firm to amend its complaint.
