AIG CEO Set to Assume Chairman Role From Duperreault in January

American International Group Inc. Chief Executive Officer Peter Zaffino will assume the additional role of chairman on Jan. 1 after helping the insurer engineer a comeback.

Zaffino will replace Brian Duperreault, the company said in a statement Wednesday. As AIG’s former CEO, Duperreault led the New York-based firm as it recovered from the turbulence of the financial crisis, which included a massive government bailout. Zaffino took Duperreault’s CEO role in March.
