AIG, Berkshire Units Sued by Coding School in Coverage Dispute

Several insurers, including units of American International Group Inc. and Berkshire Hathaway Inc., were hit with a lawsuit by a San Francisco-based for-profit coding academy seeking coverage for federal and state probes.

The carriers—AIG’s Western World Insurance Co., Berkshire’s RSUI Indemnity Co., Hallmark Specialty Insurance Co., and ANV Global Services Inc.—breached their duty to defend and indemnify BloomTech Inc. and its CEO Austen Allred, the coding boot camp company said in a lawsuit filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
