After days of negotiations and last-minute dealmaking, the US Congress passed a multitrillion-dollar tax and spending bill securing President Donald Trump’s domestic policy agenda.
The legislation, which Trump refers to as his “big, beautiful bill,” extends the tax cuts implemented in his first term and allocates billions of dollars to defense and immigration enforcement, while slashing funding for health-care programs, food assistance and clean-energy projects. The bill, adopted by a 218-214 vote in the House of Representatives, now heads to Trump for his signature.
