- Kathleen Blaszak joins Winston & Strawn’s D.C. office
- She brings experience in media, tech industry M&A
Winston & Strawn has hired Kathleen Blaszak as a partner in Washington, D.C. to grow the firm’s offerings in the media and technology industries.
Blaszak, a former Eversheds Sutherland partner, will strengthen Winston & Strawn’s mergers and acquisitions capacity in the D.C. technology sector, David Rogers, the firm’s managing partner in D.C., said in a statement.
The hire adds to the firm’s efforts to expand in the nation’s capital. Winston & Strawn has hired three other partners since January 2021 who specialize in tax controversy and appellate practice.
Blaszak has worked with clients in media and technology on M&A, commercial transactions, investments, partnerships, and venture formations, according to the firm statement.
The pandemic caused many companies to “look inward to focus on their businesses,” Blaszak said. “Now, with the new administration, they are starting to look back outward.”
She joined Eversheds Sutherland after working as an associate at Dow Lohnes and Proskauer Rose. Blaszak graduated from Washington and Lee University School of Law in 2009.
