VLSI Says Intel’s Patent Challenges Need Fresh Look at Agency

VLSI Technology LLC argued the US Patent and Trademark Office rulings that sank patents behind a landmark $2.2 billion patent infringement verdict against Intel Corp. deserve a fresh look at the agency given pro-patent owner changes to processes there.

Those 2023 decisions from the PTO’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board put the verdict in jeopardy, and they could prove wipe it out for good if they’re upheld on appeal before the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit affirms an eventual judgment from the underlying Texas district court case.
