Video Patent Suit Against GoPro Revived by Federal Circuit

An almost decade-long patent battle targeting GoPro Inc. was revived Monday as the Federal Circuit reversed a district judge’s ruling axing a pair of patents owned by Contour IP Holdings LLC and asserted against the action-camera maker.

The California court gave the point-of-view camera patents an overly generalized reading on its way to finding them abstract at the first step of a two-step test developed by the US Supreme Court in Alice Corp. v.
