Neel Chopra joined Steptoe as a partner in its investigations and white-collar defense practice in New York, the firm announced Wednesday.
Chopra joins from Binance, where he was head of legal for the Americas region. At Binance, he oversaw the company’s legal efforts in litigations and investigations, including the resolution of criminal and civil investigations brought by the Justice Department, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control as well as ongoing independent compliance monitorships, litigation with the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the company’s US civil litigation docket.
