Sirius XM Hires Former Airbnb Legal Chief as General Counsel

Sirius XM Holdings Inc. hired former Airbnb Inc. chief legal officer Richard N. Baer to replace longtime general counsel Patrick Donnelly.

Baer was CLO at Airbnb from 2019 to 2023, according to his LinkedIn profile. In a post Tuesday announcing his new role at Sirius, he said he “failed at retirement.”

Prior to Airbnb, Baer was CLO at Liberty Media Corp. and UnitedHealth Group Inc. and was GC at Qwest Communications. Baer was the chairman of the litigation department at Denver law firm Sherman & Howard LLC before moving to in-house roles.
