Fans attending the Ryder Cup, which began Friday at New York’s iconic Bethpage Black course, provided the latest sporting barometer for Donald Trump.

When the president walked in, fans erupted in cheers and chanted his name. It was a far cry from the recent US Open tennis championship in New York, where fans predominately booed the President. He received a similar reaction at the Club World Cup final in July. However, when Trump attended a UFC event in April, he received a standing ovation.
