Fifteen percent of US in-house legal heads have changed how they select outside counsel due to political developments there over the last year, according to a broad survey of general counsel and chief legal officers.
More than 1,000 CLOs and GC around the world were part of the survey, published Thursday by the Association of Corporate Counsel and FTI Consulting.
Among those who said their evaluation and selection criteria changed—13% of the overall respondents—37% reported they had stopped working with specific law firms “due to concerns about their political associations, their stances on specific policies, and/or public profile.”
