Newsom Budget Leaves Out Funds for California Emissions Reports

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) proposed a $208.7 billion state budget Wednesday without funding for implementation of the state’s new emissions reporting laws, raising uncertainty about the program’s future and how exactly companies covered under the rules should comply.

The governor’s proposed budget left out funding for many newly passed laws as he seeks to balance the budget amid a deficit he pegged at $37.9 billion.
