NCAA Taps Two Longtime Lawyers for Legal Leadership in New Era

The National Collegiate Athletic Association named two legal executives to new roles Tuesday following a bruising battle over the future of US college sports.

The organization announced that general counsel Scott Bearby will “lead enterprise legal strategy” and oversee legal affairs and hearing operations in his new position as chief legal officer. Gregory Pottorff, a former college soccer player who worked at Ice Miller, will be the NCAA’s new general counsel.
