Kroger Plans to Appoint Ex-Walmart Executive Foran as CEO (2)

Kroger Co. plans to name Greg Foran as the supermarket chain’s next chief executive officer, according to a person familiar with the matter, as the nation’s largest grocer looks to carve a new path after a failed megadeal and an unexpected exit of its former boss.

Kroger replaced CEO Rodney McMullen in March after an investigation into his personal conduct, which followed a failed $24.6 billion merger with Albertsons Cos. that was blocked on antitrust grounds. The company didn’t specify the nature of his conduct.
