A Jewish professor at City University of New York Hunter College says it has become a hostile work environment because of its inability to address antisemitism.
Leah Garrett said Hunter College’s campus was familiar with antisemitism, but that the environment “became dramatically worse” after Hamas-led militants killed some 1,200 people in an attack against Israel on Oct. 7, 2023. Her complaint in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York said Hunter used her as the face of its efforts to address antisemitism while “refusing to take any substantive action themselves.”
