Verizon’s DEI Strategy in ‘Transition Phase,’ Legal Officers Say

Telecom giant Verizon is still figuring out its path forward with diversity, equity, and inclusion, two company legal officers said Monday at the Association of Corporate Counsel annual meeting in Philadelphia.

“We are in the process of adapting, so I wouldn’t say that we have completed the journey,” David Hubbard, Verizon Communications Inc.‘s deputy general counsel, said of the company’s efforts to navigate the Trump administration’s anti-DEI agenda.

Rippi Karda, Verizon’s associate general counsel, described a “transition phase” being traversed by many large-cap, public companies.
