Deutsche Bank Keeps Freshfields Ties Strong With New Law Leader

Deutsche Bank AG announced Tuesday its hire of Freshfields partner Simone Kämpfer as its new general counsel, a role in which she’ll replace the financial services giant’s top lawyer Friederike Rotsch as of Sept. 15.

The move comes almost three months after Deutsche Bank reshuffled its US legal leadership and extended the contract of CEO Christian Sewing. The Frankfurt, Germany-based bank said in a statement that Rotsch, who was hired in 2023, is leaving to “pursue new opportunities.”
