Compass Names Veteran Antitrust Litigator as Chief Legal Officer

Compass Inc., the US residential real estate brokerage, has appointed Ethan Glass as chief legal officer, the company said Tuesday.

Glass most recently led the global antitrust and competition practice at Cooley LLP. He has decades of experience in antitrust litigation, previously leading teams at the U.S. Department of Justice that investigated and sued Multiple Listing Services for anticompetitive conduct.

In private practice he represented the National Association of Realtors in antitrust matters. He led Compass’s lawsuit against Northwest MLS aimed at restoring homeowners’ rights over how their homes are marketed in Washington state.
