Coal Giants Merging Amid Trump’s Return to Get New Legal Chief

Consol Energy Inc. and Arch Resources Inc., a pair of mining companies set to unite next year, will soon have a new top lawyer.

Arch general counsel Rosemary Klein said via email that she will be legal leader of the combined company. Arch and Consol announced in late August a $5.2 billion all-stock merger that should be completed in the first quarter of 2025.

Consol disclosed in a Nov. 12 securities filing that its general counsel and corporate secretary Martha Wiegand will receive roughly $695,400 in cash severance and 18 months of paid health insurance after resigning Aug. 7, ...
