California Privacy Agency Spells Out Initial Enforcement Focus

California Privacy Protection Agency officials said they are planning a vigorous enforcement program over violations of the state’s comprehensive privacy law, despite a recent court ruling that postpones regulations from being immediately enforced.

Agency staff on July 14 spoke publicly for the first time on how they will seek to enforce the updated California Consumer Privacy Act, providing companies an idea of where best to focus their compliance on safeguarding customers’ personal data.
