Artificial intelligence firm Cerence Operating Co. alleged
Cerence filed two separate lawsuits Monday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, each asserting multiple patents. Cerence said Amazon’s products, including Echo, Fire TVs and tablets and Alexa services, infringed its protected speech recognition, text-to-speech, and acoustic modeling technology.
Cerence said its customers use the protected technology for virtual assistants, including those used in vehicles.
Cerence has filed multiple lawsuits over the years against technology companies over text-to-speech and voice recognition technology.
