California lawmakers expect their efforts to regulate technology this year to affect the rest of the nation, given that the state is home to Silicon Valley and the nation’s biggest tech companies.
That’s especially true with emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, where comprehensive legislative action could be a first in the nation, similar to California’s lead on privacy laws.
