US Says Venezuela ‘Instability’ Bars Hearings Over Migrant Fight

The Trump administration told a judge that the “fluid situation” in Venezuela following the seizure of President Nicolás Maduro means there is no “feasible” way for US officials to give a group of migrants sent to the country an opportunity to contest the lawfulness of their deportations.

A US judge ruled in December that approximately 137 migrants must be allowed to retroactively challenge their removals last March.
