Trump Wins Delay on Order Restricting ICE Tactics in Minnesota

The Trump administration won a temporary reprieve in a lawsuit over the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency’s tactics in Minnesota when an appellate court put on hold a ruling restricting officers from interfering with protesters in the state.

The 8th US Circuit Court of Appeals on Wednesday granted the government’s bid to stay an order issued by US District Judge Katherine Menendez which prevented officers from arresting, detaining, pepper-spraying or retaliating against peaceful protesters in Minneapolis. The appeals court put the decision on hold while the government’s challenge to Menendez’s decision gets an initial review.
