Trump to Block Federal Funds for Undocumented Migrants (2)

President Donald Trump signed an executive action aimed at insuring that US taxpayer money is not spent to support undocumented migrants or encourage illegal immigration.

The order directs federal departments and agencies to identify federally funded programs providing financial benefits to migrants in the country illegally.

It also seeks to prohibit cities and states from using federal money for programs that could assist migrants and calls for improvements in verifying eligibility for benefits to “to prevent taxpayer resources from acting as a magnet and fueling illegal immigration to the United States.”
