Trump Owes Answers on Denaturalization Efforts, Democrats Say

House Democrats are demanding answers as the Justice Department ramps up denaturalization work and President Donald Trump threatens to strip citizenship from political foes.

“If the Administration is attacking citizens for speaking out against them, no one in this country is safe from harassment and arrest,” Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) and more than 30 other lawmakers wrote to Attorney General Pam Bondi on Thursday. “Denaturalization undermines the very nature of what it means to be an American, creating a tiered class of citizenship that is also a slippery slope for any United States citizen.”
