Noem Faces Fury Over Deportations During Fiery House Hearing

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was pressed by House Democrats on Thursday over the Trump administration’s broadened deportation campaign, sparking boos from protesters and calls for her resignation.

The House Homeland Security Committee met for its annual review of global threats, but the session quickly devolved into a clash over the administration’s enforcement strategy. Since taking office in January, President Donald Trump has widened immigration enforcement, conducting big-city raids, expanding partnerships with local police departments and shutting down asylum crossings at the southern border.
