Nearly 25,000 Ukrainian Refugees Have Arrived in US Since April

President Joe Biden is a quarter of the way toward fulfilling his pledge to welcome 100,000 Ukrainians fleeing Russia’s invasion, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

Biden, who this spring launched an expedited pathway for Ukrainians to live and work in the US for two years, also approved 29,000 individuals from the eastern European nation to temporarily move to the US in the coming months, according to figures DHS provided Wednesday in response to a question from Bloomberg Government. Those individuals haven’t arrived yet to the US.
