A railroad operator suspended a worker who reported a train collision, violating the whistleblower retaliation protections in the Federal Railroad Safety Act, the Labor Department said following an investigation.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration said Monday it has concluded that Canadian Pacific Kansas City Ltd. violated the statute when it disciplined a Kansas City-based employee who reported a minor August 2024 train collision to the Federal Railroad Administration.
