Merritt Hospitality Pays $1.75 Million to Settle Wage Class Suit

Merritt Hospitality LLC agreed to pay $1.75 million to end a class action alleging the company failed to pay employees accurate overtime rates and didn’t provide adequate breaks, according to a federal court filing.

Judge John W. Holcomb of the US District Court for the Central District of California in a Thursday order gave final approval of the settlement agreement, which will award an average of $300 to each current and former non-exempt California Merritt employee who worked at the company between Jan. 29, 2016, and Nov. 2, 2021.
