Medicare Drug Plans Can Now Cover Wegovy for Heart Disease

Medicare prescription drug programs can now cover Novo Nordisk A/S’s blockbuster weight-loss drug Wegovy for heart disease.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid said in a statement that it told Part D plans that anti-obesity medications that receive approval for additional uses can be covered for those indications.

None of the major Part D plans responded to questions about whether they would start covering the drug.
