Durex Condom Maker Reckitt Gets Two Patents Tossed

Reckitt Benckiser LLC knocked out two patents being asserted against its Durex Real Feel condoms at the Patent and Trademark Office.

Ansell Healthcare Products LLC, headquartered in Iselin, N.J., sued U.K.-based Reckitt in the U.S. District Court of Delaware for allegedly infringing four patents on producing synthetic polyisoprene articles. Reckitt challenged the two newest of the four patents at the PTO’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

The board held that all claims of U.S. Patent Nos. 9,074,027 and 9,074,029 should not have been granted in final written decisions Jan. 30.
