Yacht Club’s Privacy Status Revives Suit Over Bee-Protection Dog

A Florida yacht club member will get a second chance at a suit over her need for a dog to protect her from bees, as it may not be a private club exempt from anti-bias laws, the Eleventh Circuit said Monday.

Genuine issues of fact exist as to whether the Boca Ciega Yacht Club is private, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit said. It overturned summary judgment for the organization in a disability discrimination suit brought by Samantha Ring.
